Outlined below is the information to do our work on Global Warming. We begin with the Statement of Conscienc epassed at GA in 2006 and the resources available at Ministry for Earth. The we have our legislative goals for 2008, some of the legilstion that is pending in the Senate and a lot of resources about Global Warming.

Remembering Hurricane Katrina

On August 29th, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth will
sponsor a community meeting to remember the Hurricane Katrina anniversary. We'll show some DVDs that
address the BP oil spill mess and the rebuilding of New Orleans. Then, we'll ask again, "How
can we be helpful?"
(We hope to send a team of volunteers to work with Unitarian Universalists
in New Orleans. Assistance has been requested, repeatedly, for almost
five years, so we know that help is wanted and needed.)

The Unitarian Church of Barnstable is commemorating the anniversary of
Hurricane Katrina with a potluck dinner, movie, and discussion on Friday,
August 27th, at 6pm. We'll show the
UUSC/UUA film, *Rebuilding the Gulf Coast,* and follow with a discussion on
how Hurricane Katrina affected us here on the Cape and how we can make sure
that vulnerable populations on the Cape are not left behind in the wake of
future disasters. Everyone is welcome!

We will sleep out in tents on the Boston Common on April 21, to show our commitment for strong leadership in Massachusetts against rapid, catastrophic climate change. We sleep out because our homes are powered by dirty electricity, and we oppose its contribution to the greenhouse effect.

We are running out of time. The United Nations climate change conference in December will be the turning point in the fight for a safe climate. But even before the conference, Barack Obama and the leaders of some other large nations have announced that they aren't going to reach any kind of legally binding climate agreement in Copenhagen--declaring that they need more time, despite the five years of preparation they've already had.
